Trumpet artist, educator and clinician, Troy Dowding is one of the most well-respected commercial trumpeters in Ontario and throughout North America. His unique ability to expertly perform all facets of commercial and popular music before highly appreciative audiences - and to garner celebrated performance reviews - have kept Dowding in constant demand. 

Currently a celebrated member of the music faculty at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario, Troy brings world-class trumpet virtuosity via decades of professional experience when and wherever he performs, records or instructs. 

The scholarship and award-winning Dowding, one of many trumpet greats who came out of the drum corps scene, has traveled the world as a featured performer and soloist for Carnival Cruise Lines and the Garden Brothers Circus. He’s performed at the legendary Montreux and Vienne Jazz Festivals and toured in Canada, Europe and the U.S. with URequest, Sideone, and other top-billed acts. A First-Call performer in the Toronto and Hamilton recording studios, his brilliant playing can be heard on hundreds of performers’ recordings. 

In addition to his active performing and teaching roles, Dowding is a recognized expert and consultant/clinician in the use of all aspects of social media for musician/music brand-development and digital marketing. He is the founder and administrator of the popular social media/Facebook group, “Positive Trumpeters Worldwide.” And, he is the social media manager for the “Festival of New Trumpet Music,” one of the world’s most recognized trumpet events which is held annually in New York City.
